Infiniti Bolt Pattern (1991-2015)

The Infiniti G series is a popular family of cars produced by Nissan/Infiniti. Depending on the year, the G series was either sold as a G20, G25, G35, or G37. There are quite a few options to choose from, but no matter which one you have, you have, you will eventually need to know the Infinity bolt pattern.

If your Infiniti G Series was made between 1991 and 2002, then it has a bolt pattern of 4×4.5 inches (4×114.3mm) and a 2.60 inch (66.1 mm) center bore. This version of the Infiniti G series uses 4 lug nuts that have a thread size of M12 x 1.5. These lug nuts need to be tightened down to 72 – 87 ft lbs. However, the Infiniti G series vehicle that was made between 2002 and 2015, then it’s got a bolt pattern of 5×4.5 inches (5×114.3 mm) and a center bore of 2.60 inches (66.1 mm). It has thread size of M12 x 1.25 and a 5 lug nut that needs to be tightened down to 80 ft lbs.

In this article, we will discuss the Infiniti bolt pattern in more detail for each generation of G series vehicles. We will also give you links for the exact lug nuts to use on your Infiniti. Then, we will elaborate on the center bore and torque specs for each generation. Finally, we will go over the different tire and rim sizes that are available with each generation’s various engine configurations.

Infiniti G Wheel Fitment Guide

If you end up needing to do any wheel or tire work on your car, then there is a lot more that you will need to know other than just the Infiniti bolt pattern. The various factors that we have already listed, such as center bore diameter, wheel tightening torque, lug nut size, and the thread size of the bolts are useful, but now it’s time to cover each tire and rim option that came with each engine configuration of each Infiniti G series generation.

1991 – 1997 G20 (P10)

If you have a G20 made between 1991 and 1997, it has a 2.0L 140 HP engine size and uses a tire size of either 195/65R14, 195/60R15, 205/55R15, 205/50R16, or 205/45R17. Rim sizes for this G series are either 6Jx14 ET45 or 6.5Jx17 ET45.

Properly Tightening The Bolts

Depending on the version you have, the Infiniti G series uses either 4 or 5 lug nuts that need to be tightened in a specific, crisscross pattern. They must also be tightened with a specific amount of torque. Sure, you can find this in the Infiniti user manual, but good luck finding the user manual.

It is of critical importance to tighten your Infiniti lug nuts with the correct amount of pressure. Remember, if you tighten them too much, it could damage components and make the wheel hard to remove. And of course if you don’t tighten them enough, the wheel can disconnect from the vehicle.

First either use a hand wrench or just your hands to put each of the lug nuts on the bolts. It’s important to not tighten the lug nuts down all the way just yet. If you do, it will be really hard to get your lug nuts all torqued down to their proper level. So, make sure to just tighten them down about half way at first to get them all on there.

After that, it’s time to use a proper torque wrench to tighten your Infiniti lug nuts to the appropriate amount of pressure. For the most recently Infiniti G37, the lugs need to be tightened to 80 ft lbs

After that, make sure to do a lug nut travel test on your Infiniti G lug nuts. A travel test can be done by tightening your lug nuts down to their proper rated torque levels and driving for about 30 miles.

After that, simply check the torque on each of your lug nuts again. If any of them are loose, re-tighten them and repeat the travel test. If any of them are loose after that, then you will more than likely have to replace the rim.

When To Rotate Infiniti G Tires

Tires generally last around 75,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first. Miles are not the only thing that makes an impact on tire life. Vulcanized rubber is rot-resistant, but it’s not rot-proof. Over the course of several years, the rubber that the tires are made of slowly breaks down. So, even if you don’t have a lot of miles on your tires, their age should also be taken into consideration.

If you make sure to rotate your Infiniti G tires at regular intervals, they will last way longer than they would if you didn’t. Remember, car wheels are not mounted perfectly straight and parallel to each other. This causes them to wear out in an uneven way. You help mitigate some of this asymmetrical tire wear by simply rotating your tires.

When it comes to Infiniti G Series, it’s best to rotate the tires every 7,500 miles or so. Just move the rear tires to the front and move the front tires to the rear. While you are doing so, also swap the left and right sides, and that’s it.

Conclusion

The Infiniti G series is a line of cars made by Nissan/Infiniti that range from the older, lower end G20 to the newer, high performance G37. Regardless of which one you have, you will eventually need to know the Infinity bolt pattern.

If your Infiniti G series was made between 1991 and 2002, then it has a bolt pattern of 4×4.5 inches (4×114.3mm) and a 2.60 inches (66.1 mm) center bore. This particular version of the G series uses 4 lug nuts that have a thread size of M12 x 1.5. These lug nuts need to be tightened down to 72 – 87 ft lbs. If you’ve got an Infiniti G series that was made between 2002 and 2015, it has a bolt pattern of 5×4.5 inches (5×114.3 mm) and a center bore of 2.60 inches (66.1 mm). This Infiniti has thread size of M12 x 1.25 and a 5 lug nut that needs to be tightened down to 80 ft lbs.

We hope this article helped you learn more about the Infiniti bolt pattern. Thanks for reading!
