Ford Focus Bolt Pattern– All Years (+Wheel Specs)

If you end up having to do any serious tire or wheel work on your sedan, then you’re going to need to know more than just the Ford Focus bolt pattern. Things like the center bore diameter, wheel tightening torque, lug nuts size, and thread size are certainly useful.

For Ford Focus models made between 1998 and 2011, the bolt pattern measures 4×4.25 inches (4x108mm). Ford Focus cars made after 2012 will have a bolt pattern of 5×4.25 inches (5x108mm). All versions of the Ford Focus have a center bore of 2.5 inches (63.4mm) and lug nuts with a thread size of M12 x 1.5. The lug nuts on a Ford Focus need to be tightened down with 100 ft lbs of force.

While seemingly comprehensive, this does not tell you everything that you need to know. So, we have outlined the bolt pattern in greater detail for each generation below. Also, we will discuss what lugs have to be used for this vehicle.

We will also cover things like the center bore diameter and the torque specifications of the bolts. Finally, we will dive into all of the tire and rim sizes that are available with each respective engine configuration.

Properly Tightening The Bolts

The Ford Focus uses either 4 or 5 lug nuts that have to be tightened in a specific, crisscross pattern. It’s also of vital importance for these lug nuts to be secured with a specific amount of torque. You can, of course, find these figures in the Ford Focus user manual, but it’s nice to have it all in one place.

Step one is to put the lug nuts on by hand or with a hand wrench. Make sure to not tighten the lug nuts all the way down just yet. The goal at this juncture is to just get all the lug nuts on there. In fact, if you tighten them down all the way right now, it will be hard to get all of the lug nuts torqued down with an even amount of pressure.

Once all the lugs are on there, then you need to use a torque wrench to tighten the Ford Focus lug to the exact pressure required. For the Ford Focus, the lug nuts need to be tightened to 100 ft lbs.
